Once you discover how easy it is to segment an orange, you’ll be making this simple salad all the time. I like the crunch of toasted almonds or vivid Persian pistachio slivers, but they’re optional. This versatile orange and date salad is a great dessert on its own or an accompaniment to other citrus desserts like orange, almond and yoghurt cake. It can also be served with savoury dishes, especially with some pitted olives, chopped parsley, olive oil, salt and pepper added.
