Join Julian Parisi and me for an early morning behind-the-scenes tour of Sydney Produce Market, followed by a Turkish breakfast in Auburn and tour and tasting at Gima Turkish supermarket. We’ll finish with a visit to Harkola Middle Eastern warehouse where the Issac family will show us a range of artisanal Lebanese products just introduced to Australia. This is also a chance to stock up on the freshest nuts, great value tubs of yoghurt and cheese, rice and other Middle Eastern staples, so bring your chiller bag along.

The Parisi name was well-established in the world of fresh produce by the time Julian Parisi was born. He literally grew up at Sydney Produce Market, helping his father and uncles source the best produce for their Rose Bay shop. Julian is now Managing Director of the Parisi family business and at Sydney Market 5 days a week, meeting with growers and wholesalers to source premium fruit, vegetables and herbs for the likes of Neil Perry, Peter Gilmore and the Merivale empire. In Auburn, at Gima and Harkola, we’ll be guests of the Eris and Issac families who have been importing the best specialty goods from Turkey, Lebanon and the Middle East for decades.
We’ll meet at Parisi warehouse by 6am (5.30 if you’d like to join me for coffee)
