Menu 1 – Pinot Grigio, 2022, King Valley Vic

Whether you’re going for duck or prawn, this blushing pinot grigio has the complexity to stand up to our laksa spice paste and the body to marry seamlessly with the creamy coconut. A little skin contact gives a pale pink blush and a savoury note and the long dry finish will bring you back for another sip of wine between your slurps of laksa. 


Menu 2 – Prosecco, NV, King Valley Vic

The sweet and sour sauce in Jazzy Ribs (or fish) presents some intense and opposite flavours that can be a challenge for wine pairing. This is the perfect time to reach for a glass of cleansing bubbles, especially prosecco (or glera as we may have to end up calling it) from Australia’s premier region for Italian varietals, King Valley. 


Menu 3 – Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2022, Margaret River WA

Hainanese chicken rice is all about the ginger and green onion sauce, a punchy herbal concoction that can present a challenge for wines. This is where herbal sauvignon blanc comes into its own, especially rounded out with some semillon. Margaret River, which resembles Bordeaux in terroir, is the home of the classic SSB blend in Australia. 


Menu 4 – Rosé 2022, Barossa Valley SA

Barossa is known for its big reds, and great red grapes make awesome rosé too. I love this blend of grenache and cab sav with our char kway teow. It has a gorgeous, almost Provençal, apricot colour, lovely floral nose and slightly peppery dry finish. Perfect with the sweet, salty, umami sauce tossed through slippery rice noodles whether you’re adding rich wagyu or briny clams.
